I’ve known Therin a long time. The first time I took my car to him his shop was located where the Telluride high school playing fields are now. He’s fixed my cars for years and has never failed me. He’s been professional and always took the time to educate me on the mechanics of my car. This time was no different. I was noticing a small oil leak and ran my car to Telluride Tire. They showed me where it was leaking bad and let me know they didn’t get involved with this type of work on Volvos and that I needed to take it to a dealership. The nearest dealerships being Denver, ABQ, SLC and Tucson. I called Therin and he told me to bring it on over. He provided a nice car for me to drive while my car was being looked at and kept me posted with updates along the way. Turns out it wasn’t just oil leaking but the Turbo itself was on the fritz. My observation of the oil leak and his keen eye and knowledge of cars prevented the oil leak from blowing out my engine. He showed me my turbo, how it was wearing and imparted more great knowledge. Back in the day he schooled me on turbos with my old Saabs and always told me to let the turbo warm up in the beginning and let it run out a minute or so before turning off the car. That could be why this turbo lasted to 169k without blowing out, Thank you Foreign Car!
